OUR STORY

Black Girls Spike began when founder Petrina Parker discovered that it was extremely difficult to find youth sports in the Kansas City area that celebrated diverse teams. She knew there had to be a solution for this problem, and that was creating a resource where parents could learn about local teams and set up their children for success with historically black colleges and universities around the US. Black Girls Spike's mission is simple: to help parents find diverse youth sports teams that foster and facilitate physical, emotional, and cultural growth for their children.
